Your values drive your results. Our values reflect the way we live our lives. Show me a person with certain values and I can predict with accuracy the future of this person. Our values also guide the way we make our decisions, the actions we take, what we do for others, and our interpretation of events in our lives.
Values are drivers of behavior. Values are a fuel for positive or negative attitudes. Values are powerful because your future will be defined by the values you hold. Your values are influenced by your beliefs. Your core values are the guiding principles that dictate your behavior and action. You should have non-negotiable values that anchor all you do. These values are the bedrock of your growth, development and success. People with positive enabling values achieve a lot in life. What are your values regarding life, success, prosperity, faith, hope, people, business, school, government and all the good stuff?
It starts with you. Clarify and live your purpose and values – S. Chris Edmonds
Take a moment and reflect on your core values. Are these values empowering or disempowering you to do the things you want to do? There are core values that inspire and propel you to action. These values include: reliability, meaning you can be relied upon to deliver results; commitment to your goals and dreams; being open-minded to test your ideas before you discard these ideas as being useless; taking in information and testing its validity; being flexible enough to question what you were told as a kid growing up; being consistent in your actions and in what you say, being creative and innovative, knowing that you are a creative genius; being adventurous and taking calculated risks. These values also include being positive and optimistic, especially when things don’t go the way you expected or when you don’t hit a sales target, pass an exam, win a contract, and so on.
Values always influence the quality of your response in a situation. What are your values? What are your non-negotiable? It is time to start a value makeover and detox. If a value is not serving your interest and leading you in the direction of your dreams, throw it out. The universe operates on precise laws. There are values that may serve a selfish motive but will affect others. These values will not stand the test of time. Go for universal and natural values that are in harmony with the principles and laws of the universe – not in violation.
