Fear is more mental not real

What is your biggest fear? Is your fear real or imagined? A lot of times we let fear rule our lives and you know by now that most of the things you fear may never happen. Have you ever wished there was a pill you could take or a button you could push to eliminate fear? It appears everyone is afraid of something at some point. When we are afraid we make the following excuses: I don’t have the money, I don’t have what it takes, I am not ready, I don’t know how, nobody in my family has come this far, what if I fail and so on. When we experience fear, our body perceives as real the present threat or danger, even if there is nothing like that. Many times, we fear things that haven’t even happened and often will never happen. The challenge is our brain and body can’t tell the difference between real or imagined threat, so our body responds in the same way to true danger as it does to an imagined fear. Fear can take control of your mind and make it difficult for you to take any action if you allow it. Some of the symptoms of fear include: your heart beating very fast, breathing very fast, muscles feeling weak, sweating a lot, stomach churning or bowels feeling loose, finding it hard to concentrate, feeling dizzy, feeling frozen, no appetite or can’t eat, hot and cold sweats, getting a dry mouth, and very tense muscles. Instead of allowing fearful thoughts, why not learn to actually listen to them and switch your internal language to be more positive? Learn to challenge your unhelpful and unhealthy thoughts and replace them with healthier thoughts. In this way you change your feelings and emotions. Replace negative thinking and start visualizing a positive future. Visualizing a fantastic future and a positive outcome, in any way and in every given situation, will destroy your fears.

“Fear is only as deep as the mind allows.” – Japanese Proverb

Never allow your past to create fear in you. Remember, it’s in the past unless you want to continue to live there. Never be so concerned about all the things you have or haven’t done up until now, and never mind all the reasons why you can’t, and all the people who tell you why you can’t. Don’t allow fear to stop you from achieving massive success; just begin and get going. Start moving decisively in the direction of the life you want. Whatever you are afraid of is controlling your emotions, attitude, behavior, action and inaction. Whatever you are afraid of is also controlling your results. When you are ignorant and not aware of information to do something, you allow fear to dominate your thoughts. I meet people who tell me that the reason they are not doing this or that was because of a lack of money. Are you aware that all the money you require to do the things you want or to start that business is already available in the hands of someone or an institution ready and willing to give you that money provided you are aware of their existence? Ignorance is the main cause of most of your struggles.

There was a time I was so concerned with the subject of competition because that was all I knew, read and heard about. In my economics class we also learnt a lot about competition until I landed on the information about opulence, abundance and operating from a creative plane rather than a competitive plane. This information has always been available but I was ignorant and unaware of its availability. This information literally changed my life. Don’t be afraid of where the money will come from to start your own business, don’t be afraid of writing your book because you have little information regarding the publishing industry, and don’t refuse to start something because you feel you must know everything before your new idea comes to life. Ignorance causes a destruction of your mental process that causes you to attract good into your life. Thinking in negative terms will prevent you from continuing to move onward and upward in the direction of your goal.

Having the awareness and understanding allows you to step forward and step out into personal growth and freedom. Any time you experience the emotions of doubt, fear and anxiety, just persist and it will leave. When you continue to focus on your goals and bringing value to the marketplace in spite of the fear, over a relatively short period of time your conditioning will change and you will begin the process of taking the actions you need and require to move you closer to your dreams. Playing it safe will dwarf your progress, keep you stuck, and you will live a miserable life. Sandra Gallagher, says, “Fear and growth go hand in hand. When you courageously face the thing you fear, you automatically experience the growth you have been seeking.” Stop fear from limiting your progress, don’t step back into safety; step forward into your freedom.
