Zig Ziglar said “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want”
Meaning that you find or identify a business need and you help that business fulfill the need. Another way to look at this is to find out what people need, and help these people fulfill their needs through the solution you have developed. Your wealth is hidden in the problems you solve for others! To achieve the life you want and live the life you imagine will require you to provide a service, producing something or selling a product. The world revolves around people, and in order to achieve your goals you have to help others achieve theirs. It is a solid and bankable idea from Zig Ziglar that you will achieve your goals if you help others achieve theirs. This corresponds to what Jim Rohn suggests — that each one of us needs all of us. Zig always ended his sessions with the following words: “If you will do these things, then I will see you — and yes I do mean you – at the top.” Zig did not start from the top. He worked through challenges to get there and this qualified him to talk to and help all those working to get to the top themselves. Zig wrote twenty-two books on personal development, leadership, sales, faith, family, and success, including See You at the Top, Raising Positive Kids in a Negative World, Top Performance, Courtship after Marriage, Over the Top, and Secrets of Closing the Sale. Nine of his books have been best-sellers and his books and tapes have been translated into over thirty-eight languages. Zig passed on a few years ago, but his legacy continues to this very day. This legacy came about by helping other people get what they want. There lies the secret to designing the life you want. Just keep helping enough people get what they want and you will get what you want. Stop chasing after success and fame. Just focus on providing excellent service in your area of expertise and watch your results skyrocket. Whatever may be your business, mission, vocation, career, assignment, or calling, focus on providing or delivering it in an excellent manner. Go beyond the call of duty, go the extra mile in providing service or selling your products and watch your profits climb. There is a place for you in the marketplace when you are genuinely interested in solving other people’s problems and challenges. The key to success is finding what people need or want and providing it in an excellent way. Focus on serving other people’s needs and you will be rewarded greatly. Tom Monahan was an unemployed ex-student with a used car when he came up with the idea that when people phoned to order a pizza, they were hungry. If this was the case, he concluded, then speed was more important than quality. He rented a bankrupt pizza parlor, hired young people with cars and began offering thirty-minute delivery on pizzas sold anywhere within a five-mile radius. By standardizing and pre-making the pizzas, he turned his little business into a thriving enterprise. As you know, Tom Monahan is the founder of Domino’s Pizza, one of the most successful fast-food restaurant operations in history. Tom Monahan is a billionaire. He became one of the richest men in the world, because of his simple idea that, when people ordered pizzas, they valued speed over quality. He gave them the speed and transformed the world of fast-food delivery. Einstein came up with the theory of relativity; E = mc 2 The theory of relativity totally changed our attitude toward physics and the structure of the universe. Einstein left it to other people to work out the implications and applications of the formula, which they are still doing today. Einstein did not have to be a great mathematician. He simply needed to have the key insight or idea and then attract the efforts, money, and ideas of others to leverage his insight into the revolution in our understanding of the physical universe that his equation became. Helping people get what they want pays dividend.
