Time is a gift and your goals, dreams, aspirations; objectives can all be achieved when you use your time wisely. When we are young we squander time, we waste it on non-essentials and believe that we have all the time to achieve all that we want to achieve. Then you realize that after you have gotten a bit older that you don’t have all the time you thought you had to accomplish all your goals. Someone said “Time is a great deal more than money and that if you have time you can unusually earn money.” Remember that you cannot buy yourself a minute more time than the 24 hours you have. When you realize early in life that time is your greatest ally, and one of your most significant treasures, you begin to use your time differently. In the realm of time, no one’s richer than you! With time all is possible, and without it, nothing is possible. Every single day that you wake up is a daily miracle. When you wake up in the morning, your life is given another 24 hours from 12 midnight to work with irrespective of whether you wasted yesterday or not. No one will ever say that because you wasted some time yesterday, today you will be given less time. Every single day we are alive, we are given the gift of 24 hours.
Time is your most precious possession. No one can take it away from you and it can never be stolen. No one receives more or less time than you receive. A genius is not rewarded with more time or extra time in a day. You are never punished for your misuse of time. Irrespective of whether you waste your most precious resource called time; the supply of time will never be withheld from you. No mysterious power is able to say you do not deserve another day because you have been wasting your time. Every single day, you are gifted with 24 hours. Could it be that because time as precious as it is; is wasted primarily because it is freely given every single day? Could it be that so many people waste time because they are not conscious of this significant gift? Or could it be that we just take time for granted? You will not be in a position to draw your future stores of time thereby getting into debt. Each one of us can only waste the passing moment. And for sure, million around the globe are wasting each moment that passes. You can never waste tomorrow; it is kept for you when tomorrow arrives. You cannot waste the next hour, it’s always kept for you. You can only live on 24 hours on a daily basis. From the 24 hours you can spend on taking care of your family, health, pleasure, earning money, your spirituality, social activities, business, education, career advancement and all the other things of importance to you. To effectively live on 24 hours and live well, you can do a number of things. Before I share that with you, I heard some years ago that it’s not how long you live but how well you live. How well you live is contingent on your effective use of time. Every single day wasted is a waste of the gift called life. Someone at this very moment is breathing their last breath and they wished they could have more time. Someone has been diagnosed with a terminal ailment and been informed by their doctor that they have a week or two to live and they wish they had more time. Time is a very important gift and a great resource. Use it well and live the life you have imagined. Here are a few ideas on how to live well on 24 hours: • Consciously see and treat time as a very precious resource • Develop the habit of doing something each day towards your vision, mission and goals • Evaluate each day with respect to how you have used the day – taking stock of what has gone well and what has not • Think about what you are thinking about so that you don’t waste a day worrying, complaining, gossiping, and being anxious • Spend your day with the right people, people who are going in the direction you intentionally want to go • Don’t carry yesterday’s disappointments and challenges into today and don’t waste the day thinking about tomorrow or the future which is not yet here • Live today with purpose and be intentional about today. • Above all pray for a successful day.
