You want to design the life you want and I believe you also want to live the life you imagine. You want to fulfill your potential, make a contribution, leave a legacy, and use your skills and knowledge to leave the world a better place. You want to meet the needs of your family, but you also want to have more than enough to make a contribution to charities you believe in and causes you want to support. You also want to change something about yourself so that you can be better, more resourceful, achieve more, do more, give more, and be all that you are capable of. Most of the people I have met in my seminars and professional life would like to reach out and do more. Many are not satisfied with their lives because they feel stuck and want the freedom to pursue their goals and dreams. You can be all that you were born to be and climb the ladder of success when you prepare yourself to do that.
Make sure, though, that your ladder of success is leaning against the right wall.
I have met a few people at the pinnacle of success who were not at all happy because they pursued the wrong calling or mission. The caveat is that for things to change you have to change. To acquire the things you want on the outside, you first must change on the inside. Success, achievement, advancement, accomplishment, and all the good stuff is an inside job. Here is the good news. When you spend the time reprogramming what is on the inside, you will begin to achieve the results you want on the outside. There is a strong urge to succeed and live a comfortable life. To succeed on the outside you have to work on your personal challenges, issues, and problems. You may want to change a habit or a personality trait or you may hope for a better way of dealing with worry and anxiety. It will come through personal change and transformation. Personal change calls for reprogramming and reconditioning. It also comes through relentless repetition of the right habits you want to cultivate. Having the desire to design the life you want is noble, but it is not enough.
Saying I should do this or that is never enough to bring the changes and transformation you want to see in your life. It takes more than mere desire to change. However, change is what you need to live the life you imagine. You have to do things differently if you want a different result. Getting frustrated because you feel you cannot change some things about yourself is setting yourself up for more frustration, worry, and grief. The road for personal change and transformation is dotted with challenges and frustration and is tough going. If it were easy, everybody who wanted to be successful would be by now. Old conditioning gets in the way, wrong habits show up every now and then, and some people just give up altogether.
There is a way for personal change and transformation. Our brains are trained through our socialization process, and the things we read, watch, and do. We follow the pathways set up by habit and conditioning. For personal change and transformation, we need to give the brain new pathways to work with. I have developed the 4P to personal change and transformation to support you on your journey to achieve your dreams. My model for change and transformation is: Prepare for change; Plan for change; Promote habits of change and Profit from change. In the next four weeks, I will develop each idea to help you on your journey.
