Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world — Harriet Tubman
Dreams are powerful. Dreams inspire us to action; they make us wake up every morning with expectation. They also keep us focused, trigger massive action, catapult us to greatness, and ignite a fire within us. Albert Einstein, Abraham Lincoln, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Walt Disney, Mark Zuckerberg, Michelangelo, Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy, Les Brown, Denis Waitley, Steve Siebold, and Bob Proctor, were all great dreamers. It is very difficult to adequately describe or capture the power of a dream. Walt Disney said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” The Disney Empire began with the dream of one man. There is greatness in the power of one! The Walt Disney Company earns billions of dollars each year. Everything we see today started as a dream in someone’s mind. Dreams are fuel for achievement and success. Look around you, the house you live in, the furniture, the stove, fridge, multi-media system, computer, laptop and others began as an idea in some else’s mind. It all begins as an idea or dream.
Big dreamers are changing our world every single day and making the world a better place to live. It is important that you don’t underestimate the power of your dream, especially when you keep your dream alive and well. When your dream inspires greatness in others, causes people to live the lives they imagine, and also leaves a blazing trail behind, then you have a powerful and strong dream. CS Lewis said, “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” The song “Power of a Dream” written by David Foster, Linda Thompson, and Babyface and performed by Celine Dion inspired me to appreciate the true power of a dream. One of the lyrics reads, “Deep within each heart there lies a magic spark that lights the fire of our imagination.” You need to hold fast to your dream so that it will not die. The cemetery is rich with dreams that were never brought to life. These dreams died with the people who had them. Don’t allow your dream to die in you. Your dream could just be the solution to someone’s struggles and challenges. Your dream could be an answer to an elusive problem the world is trying to solve. You have a dream inside you that needs to be focused and released. Allow your dream to come alive. There are times we go through various challenges and put our dreams on hold. It’s time to revisit the dream again. Let the world see your dream in action. Some of the technological changes, advancements, and solutions we are enjoying today are as a result of the actions of a few who decided to act on their dreams. A dream is only a dream unless we act on it. Acting on your dream makes it real and effective. Continue to dream like you will live forever and act on your dreams with a sense of urgency, for you never know when death will come knocking at your door. There are no guarantees in life, and that is why you should not only dream but bring your dream to life. If you want to live the life you imagine, then you have to create your future. Remember that nothing happens unless we start with a dream.
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams — Roosevelt
Begin to advance in the direction of your dreams. Don’t let go of them. Continue to trust your instincts. Take responsibility for yourself and develop a hunger to accomplish your dreams. Don’t allow anybody to talk you out of them. When you encounter challenges along the path, rest if you must but shortly continue in with gusto. When you take responsibility for your dreams; you are saying, If it’s to be, it’s up to me!
