It is your right to live the life you have imagined and not be stopped by unfounded erroneous belief systems created by people to control and manipulate you for their own selfish reasons. You are pure potential and you should begin to see yourself that way and walk in your identify with the right self-image, self-esteem and self-concept. Nothing can stop you from realizing your potential unless you stop yourself. In my training and seminars I have the habit of asking people what they want and everybody has something to say about that. I have heard my participants and conference attendees say things like: I want a beautiful house, a successful business, a great career, a fantastic spouse or relationship, to become a CEO of a large corporation, and so on. I then follow-up with the next question; what is stopping you then? This is where I begin to hear excuses like: I don’t have the education or the money, I am not in the right environment, I come from a poor family, and all the excuses that you have heard or read about yourself. Use your identity as the power to have it all. Relish in your identity and begin to dream large dreams because of who you are and whose image you represent. You are a person of significant value and don’t you kid yourself thinking any less!
I was recently with a great friend of mine called Mark. He is an engineer by profession and has done very well in his career. He was going through a difficult season in his life. As we progressed in our conversation I realized that Mark, due to the current struggles in his life, had forgotten who he truly was, the successes he has had, the qualities he brought to the table, skills and gifts he had. He started degrading himself as not having what it takes to turn things around. I had to remind him of his track record, the successes he has had, his qualities of bringing people together for assignments, and his capacity to draw people to himself. I also reminded him of his identity and counseled him on being careful of how he looks at the world in times of adversity and challenge. At the end of the conversation Mark gave a smile, squared up, and walked confidently from our meeting with resolve, renewed energy, and the strength to turn things around and pursue his goals. You can turn things around when you begin to use your inner resources and strength to change your life. You have help available through your identity to make your life a masterpiece. Go back to your roots and remember you are made in God’s image and therefore you have the qualities, potential, skills, and inner resources to make your life a masterpiece. Watch your inner dialogue and self-talk and begin to doubt your doubts regarding your capability. In the coming days, weeks and months, convince yourself daily on what you’ve got and what you do not have. Every genius was once ordinary. You don’t have to be great to start living the life of your dreams or the journey of success and accomplishment; you have to begin where you are with what you have to be great. You already have greatness in you waiting to be released.
