Champa Magesh’s Story

In the UK, Champa Magesh is an executive vice-president and managing director of EMEA at Amadeus, a global travel technology company. In her global role, there are employees located in all corners of the planet. Champa has now set up virtual coffees with many of them, often at the expense of her own sleep. She is based in the UK but schedules calls at 4 am, for example, so that colleagues in New Zealand do not have to work late during the crisis.

A people first leader always, Champa, has upped her game even further with the pandemic. She now meets with her direct reports twice a week for short check-ins and has decided to meet directly with mid-management to address any questions. She has also decided to provide frequent updates through short videos shot from her home, that get sent through the company on Amadeus’ Yammer platform.
